First off CONGRATULATIONS NINA SWIDERSKI! Winner of the Polyphonic Spree poster contest! You got the votes, and Tim De Laughter from the Spree dug your design quite a bit. Thanks to all the others who participated, you should all have signed posters, Meagan Phillips can get you yours if you haven’t received it already.
Just thought I’d post a few pictures people took of the night, so sorry I couldn’t join y’all, but I caught them when they played the El Rey down here in LA.
(thanks to Lesly Pyle and Meagan Phillips for the images!)
I’m hoping y’all can come out and support Frank Fusco and his band Vinyl Spectrum this Wednesday August 14th @ Great American Music Hall.
It’s going to be a great night, and I hear Ad Age is covering the event, so please, let’s get some GSP’ers in there to represent!
Doors are at 7PM Vinyl Spectrum goes on at 8:30.
Frank’s got guest list spots to give away, so hit him up if you want them!
Moby’s video for the single off the new record.
Looking forward to hearing the full length, it’s Moby’s first time using an outside producer, (Spike Stent) and the whole record is apparently laced with collaborations. Wayne Coyne, Mark Lanegan and members of Cold Specks get the Moby treatment.
Really a nice effort by W.E.B. here, apparently he grabbed a “leaked” LDR track and made something pretty extraordinary.
Maybe he’s making a transition from outsider artist to mainstream music, maybe?
This line up is NUTS.
Another great year at one of the most funnest festivals.
Featuring some of comedy’s finest, Ed Helms might get an award his portrayal of Ben Lovett.
Just a heads up, there’s a great benefit show happening tonight Friday August 2nd. Ben Kweller and other talented artists have partnered with San Franpsycho to raise funds for Surf For Life.
San Franpsycho and Surf for Life are teaming up with local musicians and small businesses to raise money for educational resources in Central America. The Independent and Another Planet Ent are putting all ticket sales for the night towards our fundraising goals.
