GSP Alum, Host Bodies releases new album

First up Nick Hess’ band  Host Bodies has a brand new full-length out and it’s been on infinite repeat on my system for the past few weeks; REALLY good for road trips and chilling. Well produced from start to finish. Good on ya Nick!

Nick and the band are having an album release party/performance this Friday the 15th @ Neck Of The Woods on Clement in SF, get tickets HERE.

Coming soon: Beautiful Machines, Vinyl Spectrum and others, (hit me if you’d like to add to the list.)

Olafur Arnalds launches new project, “Island Songs”

The always magical and innovative Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds has launched a new project, a “Living Film” shot around Iceland, check it out:

Welcome to Island Songs.

Over the next 7 weeks, I will be traveling to 7 different locations in Iceland – one per week – to record a series of new compositions.

In each location I will be collaborating with local artists to create and perform a new song and each week I will release the audio track and video performance, shot by director Baldvin Z. Each artist has their own unique story to tell and way of contributing, making this a diverse and evolving project.

Island Songs is a living musical film and therefore everything will be documented in real-time. You can join me by keeping an eye on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and IslandSongs.is for regular media and commentary.

New locations will be added to the map as we go and songs will be released every Monday.

Live Nation, the world’s largest promoter, will announce today that it is bringing back the $20 “Kickoff To Summer” ticket promotion that helped the firm hit record numbers at its amphitheaters in 2015, despite tough competition from stadium shows and festivals.

Artists from Alabama Shakes to ZZ Top will take part in the promotion (see full list below), which includes both Live Nation-promoted tours and shows booked on a regional and local basis by the territorial promoter in each market.
